ZAKA-Roman Catholic Church run St Anthony High School has once again put on a sterling performance by scoring 99% in the A Level ZIMSEC results, The Midweek Watch has learnt.
Last year St Anthony had the same pass and this year out of 121 pupils who sat for ZIMSEC examinations, 72 were boys and 49 girls.
There are four students who scored 20 points each.
Silvester Chiarabhu obtained 20 points after he sat for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Crop Science.
Julius Mataruse also scored 20 points in Mechanical Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Pure Mathematics, Charles Mugadza who sat for Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics and Pure Mathematics also bagged 20 points and Tadiwa Murinda wrote Mechanical Mathematics, Physics, Geography and Pure Mathematics also walked away with 20 points.
Tafadzwa Bwazvo came second with 19 points after she sat for Computer Science, Geography, Pure Mathematics and Crop Science.
St Anthony head, Joram Mawana told The Midweek Watch that they are excited with the results considering that the education sector was heavily affected by the deadly COVID-19 disease.
“As a school we want to express our gratitude to our 2023 students and staff for working very hard and producing exceptional results despite the disturbances we encountered through the year,” said Mawana.
“I would like to pay tribute to teachers for their hard work and encourage them to continue with the sterling work, to the parents we are grateful for your continued support and united we stand and divided we fall so we should continue working together for the betterment of the school”.
Mawana added that their aim is to do better next time and continue to excel.
He also said although they major in sciences they also offer commercial and arts subjects.
