Sitting MPs bite the dust in Midlands Zanu PF primaries

GWERU-Most sitting Members of Parliament in the Midlands Province bite dust in the just ended Zanu PF primary elections results in our possession show.

 Shurugwi North Constituency incumbent MP, Robson Nyathi lost to Joseph Mpasi, while Shurugwi South legislature Edmond Mkaratigwa also lost to Wilson Mhuri.

In Vungu Constituency sitting MP and veteran football administrator, Omega Sibanda lost to Brown Ndlovu and flamboyant Gokwe Nembudziya MP, Mayor Wadyajena who was recently cleared of US$5million Cottco theft was floored by former legislator for the area, Flora Buka.

The Midlands Province Minister of State, Larry Mavhima lost to prominent miner and former Deputy Minister, Freddy Moyo, with Meckey Jaravaza defeated Zvishavane Ngezi legislature Dumezwani Mawhite and former MDC legislator Pearson Mbalekwa.

In Chirumanzu-Zibagwe constituency Prosper Machando also lost his right to represent Zanu PF in the mid-year elections to Jacob Chinorurama.

Meanwhile, Wellington Magura won the right to represent the revolutionary party in Mkoba South, with William Gondo bagging Mkoba North whilst Slaiman Kwindini and Alex Mukwembi won in Chiwundura and Gweru Urban constituencies respectively.

The official results will be formally announced by the national elections directorate after approval by the Politburo.
