Sibling in attempted murder as she throws sister onto tarmac clinging on bonnet

MUTARE CITY-Passersby in the gateway city to the sea were treated to a sad drama as a sister threw her sibling from a vehicle bonnet when she unexpectedly drove off at high speed from a panel beating garage.

The incident that shocked onlookers and pedestrians happened on Friday last week at around 11am at Bluestar garage and the accused has since been charged with attempted murder.

Manicaland Province police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed the attempted murder case to The Midweek Watch.

Tanyaradzwa Mapfumo (31) and her sister Opah Rutendo Dhlamini (40) all of Chikanga suburb drove their Honda Fit into Bluestar garage for spray painting.

Mapfumo disembarked to talk to a mechanic but Dhlamini suddenly started reversing the Honda Fit.

Mapfumo jumped onto the bonnet but Dhlamini continued to reverse at high speed resulting in the complainant falling off the vehicle onto the tarmac.

She drove away at high speed as the mob started gathering around the car baying for her blood.

Mapfumo suffered bruises on her buttocks and both legs, she was rushed to Victoria Chitepo Hospital and a report was made to the police leading to the arrest of the accused.
