Shoko settles well at Sheasham

MIDLANDS – Polyster Jemias Shoko (28) has finally found a new home at Sheasham FC after making a move from neighbours MSU FC.

When he joined the Construction Boys it was not easy especially under the tutelage of John Nyikadzino, but his fortunes changed under Lizwe Sweswe.

Nicknamed “Midfield Maestro”, Shoko is beginning to show his class as he has started executing his trademark long range passes and burst runs towards the goal accompanied by powerful shooting which earned him the armband at his previous club.

Hailing from the Zvishavane home of football, Mandava, Shoko was a darling of the crowd during his days at Shabanie FC aka Bvaru Bvaru which earned him the jersey 42 popularised  by the lvorian midfield maestro, Yaya Toure.

His outstanding form has seen him being in the starting line up in recent games after going for 16 games warming the bench.

Shoko was born and bred in Zvishavane town where he   grew up with his parents and 4 siblings

 He is married to Gratitude Dube and the couple is blessed with a baby boy, Riley Gnabry.

 Shoko is a holder of a degree in Local Governance and he started playing professional football at former PSL side Shabanie Mine FC in 2015-2016 before moving to Black Eagles in 2017.

He then migrated back to  Shabanie in 2018 and MSU from 2019-2022 before his move to Construction Boys.

Speaking to the Midweek Watch Shoko said he has finally found a home at Sheasham and seek to be part of the club in a long time to come.

‘I am enjoying playing the game, I have the desire and soccer is my life. I feel at home, I am very happy at Sheasham FC. So far I have played  18 games, my goal as an individual is to be one of the best midfielders in PSL and help my team to remain in this elite league”, he said.
