-as cricket extravaganza kicks off

Masvingo-Beer prices at Masvingo Sports Club have suddenly shot up as the historic U19 World Cup warm up matches kick off.

A quart of Zambezi lager that was priced at $2 on Thursday morning had shot up to $3 and a Castle Light dumpy that was going for $1.50 is now $2 the same as Heineken by evening.
“We are hosting the U19 cricket warm up matches this weekend and we are under pressure to increase our beer prices due to high demand.
“There is something for everybody as we are getting draught beer from our supplier, Delta to beef up our stocks. After the tournament the price will go down to the usual prices,” said one attendant who spoke on condition of anonymity.
