GUTU-Roman Catholic Church run Serima High School in Gutu District has recorded an impressive 98.3 percent pass rate in the 2025 Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) Ordinary Level exams, reflecting a marginal decline of 0.3 percent from the 98.6 percent achieved in 2024.

A total of 115 candidates sat for the examinations, 59 girls and 56 boys.
Of these, 27 learners obtained five A’s and above, with the top-performing candidate achieving an outstanding 10 A’s.
Only two candidates failed to attain five O Level passes.
Speaking on the results, Serima High School head Ernest Choga, attributed the slight drop in the pass rate to the quality of candidates who sat for the examinations.
“Our quality slightly dropped from last year due to the quality of students,” said Choga.
“However, we would like to congratulate the learners for their relentless efforts in achieving these commendable results.”
He also applauded the commitment of staff and responsible authorities, saying, “Your support has been remarkable. We encourage everyone to continue working hard to sustain and even improve these results.”
