MASVINGO – A security guard working for Crush Security Company in Masvingo was killed on Monday night by unknown assailants whilst guarding an Econet booster in Mucheke A behind Sarudzai Beer Hall.
The incident was confirmed by Masvingo Province ZRP spokesperson, Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa.
Hannis Hamandishe (34) stayed at Number 6173 Nyuse Street, Mucheke D in Masvingo.
Dhewa told The Midweek Watch that whilst the deceased was on duty, at around 3:50am Everisto Chifamba (54) and Samson Mazorodze (58) the Crush security supervisors were busy checking on deployments and when they looked for him they could not find him.
They called his cell phone several times, but it was not being answered until they found it about 100m away from the booster and the deceased was lying in a pool of blood next to his phone.
They rushed to Chikato Police station to report the matter and proceeded to Masvingo Provincial Hospital where he died at around 8am.
He had two deep cuts on the right leg, deep wound on the left leg, 3 deep cuts on the arm and a scar on the head. Dhewa went on to state that investigations are still underway and they are pleading with the public for any information which can help to apprehend the accused.
