A team of 35 missionaries from the United States, under the banner of God’s Hands Missionaries, is carrying out community outreach programmes in Hillside, Masvingo, from 21 to 25 July 2025.

The main attraction of their mission is providing free medical treatment to residents in the ancient city which has seen hundreds of people with varying health complications lining up at the church.
Their mission includes constructing a Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church in the area and offering free medical treatment to residents at Hillside Adventist Church. The initiative is being run in partnership with the Government of Zimbabwe and aims to serve both the spiritual and physical needs of the community.

Led by Elder John Jordana, the director of God’s Hands Missionaries, and assisted by Pastor Marty of the Possibility Ministry, the group is committed to supporting underserved communities through faith and service.
Pastor Gwerete, serving as the liaison officer, explained how the outreach is rooted in the SDA Church’s core mission saying “In line with the Three Angels’ message, as we save people spiritually, we also aim to save them medically. It was in Jesus’ culture to heal the sick as He preached.”
The programme has already seen scores of residents receiving much-needed medical attention, while construction of the new church is underway—strengthening the bond between the SDA Church and the local community.
