Mabvuku is buzzing with pride as Scotland Football Club owned by businessman and legislator Scott Sakupwanya, clinched the 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title in dominant fashion following a 5-1 demolition of relegated Kwekwe United Football Club last weekend.

The triumph marks a historic chapter for the Mabvuku-based club whose meteoric rise from a grassroots community project to national champions has captured the imagination of Zimbabwean football fans.
But the football fairytale does not end there.
Sakupwanya’s second club, N’ombeyawora Football Club Football Club is also on the brink of glory.
The Northern Region Division One side is just one result away from securing promotion to the Premier Soccer League, a development that would complete a rare “double” in Zimbabwean football with both clubs under his ownership playing in the top flight next season.
Heading into the final matchday, N’ombeyawora FC sit one point ahead of title rivals Agama FC.

They face MWOS U19 this weekend needing a win to secure the championship. A draw would also be enough if Agama draw or lose. Even a loss could seal promotion but only if Agama fail to win. However, a N’ombeyawora loss coupled with an Agama win would see the title slip away.
Sakupwanya’s bold investment in football is fast reshaping the local football landscape particularly in his home suburb of Mabvuku.
His commitment has reignited dreams for young players, restored community pride and shown what money can achieve in local sport.
If N’ombeyawora seal promotion, it would not only mark a personal milestone for Sakupwanya but signal the rise of Mabvuku as a new football powerhouse in Zimbabwe.
As the final whistle nears on one of the most exciting seasons in recent memory, all eyes are on Mabvuku, the home of champions and the heart of Zimbabwe’s football revolution that is sweeping across the country.
