KADOMA-The rolling out of the Kadoma Central Constituency MP Scholarship Fund is key in moulding responsible citizens who can be judicious, sustained by a sound educational background.

This was said by scholarship founder and benefactor, Kadoma Central MP Gift Mambipiri, at the launch of the third phase of the initiative dubbed ‘From Streets to Schools’.
“We used to believe that when children enrol in school they would automatically find a job to sustain their livelihoods. With the new economic reality in the country, employment is now hard to come by, forcing parents and the general citizenry to revisit that mindset. However, a good education is not just a route to employment but, enables one to make critical decisions in life. One is able to discern the good from the bad as a result. Therefore, enrolling a child in school is preparing them for a brighter future in which they utilize the education gained for progressive, responsible and astute lives. These are the kind of citizens who drive our nation forward,” said Mambipiri.
He further encouraged parents to be equally shinning role models who display exemplary behaviour for the benefit of their children.
“When we play our roles as good parents, that transcends to our children. We must be seen to set a good example for our children so that they learn from us and practice that in their daily lives. We have that duty which we must not abandon. At the end of the day we, specifically want our beneficiaries to stand out and be counted among the whole lot.”
Fund co-ordinator Emmanuel Magunda paid tribute to the MP and parents who are making the fund bring positive change in the constituency.
“I don’t have much to say save to strongly thank both sides, the fund administrators and parents who have managed to enable this fund to come this long. I express a strong sense of gratitude to the MP and all parents here present. I wish all of you a successful academic year.”
In his welcome remarks, Kadoma Central Constituency MP Scholarship Fund chairperson, Ashton Muyeye gave some insight into the operational framework of the fund.
“We get our funds from our MP. These are learners who were selected as deserving of the benefit for this academic year, 2026. The learners are selected by managers located at various schools who also continue to monitor our learners as the year progresses. At strategic moments, we go to the schools to meet focal point persons for us to have an appraisal of the learners’ progress and their learning environment. When we manage to acquire learning material, we also extend it to our beneficiaries. To our learners, be good ambassadors of the Fund just like those before you. So far our beneficiaries have come out with impressive results and we encourage you to follow suit. We trust and believe you continue on that positive path.”
There were a fraction of the 800 who tendered their applications for the annual scholarship fund.
