Foundation ECD Centre nestled at Rutenga Growth Point ended the second term in style by hosting an electric Careers’ Day Ceremony on 4 August that was attended by scores of people including the business community.

Schools Inspector, Strike Ncube was the guest of honor.
In his address, Ncube hailed the management of Foundation ECD Centre for organizing a careers’ day, highlighting that the event was critical in preparing the young learners on possible professions that they may want to pursue.

“I am happy to officiate at this ceremony which celebrates and cherishes our future leaders,” said Ncube before taking the audience through the memory lane, as he chronicled how the learning institution started.

“This institution, l have a hand in it, since its inception, when l was head of Rutenga Primary, this school was attached to Rutenga Primary, and when it was registered l was the acting district schools inspector, so l played a part in this project and l am glad it is growing,” he explained.

He also challenged Foundation ECD Centre and the audience to take note of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education’s (MoPSE) collaborative approach.
“The presence of parents ,the business community and religious leaders at this event is in sync with the ministry’s collaborative approach policy which among other things takes everyone on board in pursuit of excellence in the education sector, leaving no one and no place behind,” said Ncube.

Ward 18 councillor’s representative, Norah Mugaviri popularly known as Mai Nomsa in Rutenga, acknowledged the Foundation ECD Centre for its determination in giving quality education as evidenced by captivating presentations by the learners.
“What l am seeing here is pleasing. The school is doing a wonderful job for our community Rutenga. Education is an agent of development and these young souls are the future leaders of our nation, through education, we are guarding against societal ills such as drug and substance abuse” weighed Norah.
Foundation ECD Centre careers’ day was punctuated by fascinating presentations by the kindergartens, one such presentation was the road block dramatization which pitted Believe Moyo as a police officer, who “shocked” the audience by diligently executing his duties, as he refused to be bribed by a motorist who was driving without a license.
Marirangwe Primary head, Tawanda Madhlangove said, “l would like to applaud our guest of honor and all the people who have gathered here to give this ceremony the weight it deserves. May this school continue to be the school of choice”.
