MSVINGO CITY-Enesy Wedza (67), of Rujeko A in Masvingo City who recently appealed for financial assistance to purchase a medical stent to help her eat, has died.

Her son, Vincent Mahala confirmed the sad news to The Midweek Watch, saying she passed on yesterday at around 1000hrs at Masvingo Provincial Hospital where she had been admitted.

“Yes, my mother passed on yesterday morning around 10am at Masvingo Provincial Hospital,” said Mahala.

Wedza (pictured) had been diagnosed with a serious oesophageal growth which left her unable to swallow food and dependent on a drip for feeding. The family had been appealing for US$880 to purchase a stent and an estimated US$15,000 for the required operation.

Mahala said they were unable to raise the full amount needed for the feeding aid.

“We did not manage to get the required amount I was seeking to buy her a feeding aid but I would like to thank those who assisted with the little they had,” he said.

Mourners are gathered at house number 3574 Mhizha Drive Rujeko A, Masvingo and she will be laid to rest at Mangwandi Cemetery on Saturday.
