Rujeko elects new SDC

Date:

MIDWEEK REPORTER

MASVINGO-One of Masvingo City Council run schools, Rujeko Primary has elected a new School Development Committee to run the affairs of the institution for the next 12 months, The Midweek Watch can reveal.

The elections to replace the previous executive led by Patience Mapfumo which had been in office for the past three years were held on Saturday last week at the school where one Mamvura was elected the new SDC chairman.

Mamvura is deputised by Mhangami, Mboko comes in as the new secretary, the treasurer is now Makamure and Mujeuri is the committee member.

Close sources told The Midweek Watch that the new SDC team is heavily aligned to Nelson Chamisa led Citizens Coalition for Change as the parents who voted on the day were allegedly bused by Ward 7 councillor Richard Musekiwa on the day of the hotly contested elections, which were characterized by booing and ululation.

The Rujeko Primary headmaster, Alec Tabe, who is believed to be due for retirement any time soon confirmed the new development, but could not give any details as he continuously said that he was busy until the time of posting the story.
