REDCLIFF- The Municipality of Redcliff recently conducted a training workshop to equip council run school bursars with financial management skills.

Redcliff Municipality Spokesperson Michael Magoronga.

Redcliff Municipality spokesperson Michael Magoronga said the capacity building workshop was attended by six council-run schools which include Batanai High School, Drake High School, Torwood, R.J Daves and George Hill Primary Schools.

“The municipality of Redcliff recently conducted a capacity building training workshop to equip council-run schools with finance management skills and align the schools with current trends.

“The training was meant to create uniformity in conversion of currencies as well as aligning them with current financial trends and tools such as IPSAS which was recently introduced to promote financial management,” he said.

The hiring and employment of incompetent bursars can result in council-run schools losing revenue and unprofessional handling of pupils and parents.

Most council schools in the country have failed to record meaningful developments as a result of incompetency of both school administration and school development committees.
