MASVINGO- Reformed Church of Zimbabwe (RCZ) run schools continue to bask in glory as their schools performed very well in the just released 2022 ZIMSEC O Level examinations results.
Speaking to the Midweek Watch RCZ education secretary, Julius Mutumburanzou said the quantitative analysis shows that their schools have produced better results than last year.
“As the responsible authority we are very happy with the results as our schools are improving each year. It shows the level of commitment and hard work by the stakeholders in all our schools.
“We also encourage them to keep up the good work and maintain the good reputation. I am still working on the final results analysis but from the quantitative method which I have completed it shows that the schools have by far surpassed the last year’s performance. The pass rate has gone up and we pray that these schools continue to perform better each year,” said Mutumburanzou.
From the results analysis sheet Pamushana High School maintained its pole position out of the six RCZ run secondary schools that is, Gutu ,Chibi, Alheit Chingombe ll, Zimuto and Jichidza.
Pamushana had a total of 279 pupils who sat for the 2022 ZIMSEC O Level examinations with 94,98% of them passing five subjects and above.
Chibi High was slightly below Pamushana with 94,71% pass rate with more female pupils passing than males by a difference of 4% despite the fact that they were fewer than males followed by Gutu High with 93,1% pass rate obtained from 157 pupils who passed five subjects and more out of the 172 pupils who sat for the examinations.
Alheit Chingombe High II had a pass rate of 87, 94% with two of its pupils failing to sit for the examinations out 143 who had registered for the examinations, a total of 68 passed five subjects and above including Maths, English and Science whilst Zimuto is on fifth position with 85,45% with 188 pupils passing five subjects and above out of 220 candidates who sat for the examinations in 2022.
Jichidza High had 61,67% pass rate with 78 learners getting five subjects and above out of the 120 who sat for the ZIMSEC examinations.
