RCZ elects new leadership

Chivi – The Reformed Church in Zimbabwe (RCZ) last weekend elected new leadership known as the Moderamen that will run affairs of the church for the next two years.

The elections were held at a conference which took place at Chibi Mission High School from Wednesday to Saturday last week. 

Reverend Dr Ezekiel Baloyi of Zvishavane Congregation was elected the Reformed Church in Zimbabwe moderator and he will be deputised by Reverend Simbarashe Munamati the Principal of Murray Theological College in Morgenster.

The new Synod secretary is Advocate Knowledge Mabvuure of Hillside Congregation and will deputised by Mary Molly Mapanga of Rhodene Congregation both based in Masvingo City. 

Reverend Lovemore Mashamba of Nashville Congregation in Gweru was elected the general secretary and Reverend Sheunesu Makonese of Inner City Congregation will be his deputy.

The Church’s Actuary is Reverend Charles Juro of Morgenster Mission in Masvingo Rural.

The church leaders gathered for a four day Synod Assembly, running under the theme The Church in Mission, Serving Christ, transforming communities.
