KAMUSENZERE – A local support and charity was witnessed on June 12 at Dande Store in Kamusenzere Growth Point as the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe (BAZ) held a consultation meeting regarding the proposed establishment of Radio KoreKore, a community radio station intended to serve the local population.

Amid the excitement surrounding the media development initiative, Member of Parliament Labbany Munemo (Mt Darwin North Constituency) added a touch of compassion to the day by donating food items to vulnerable members of the community.
A total of 15 orphans and 25 elderly residents each received packages consisting of rice and sugar, in total, 60 kilograms of rice and 40 kilograms of sugar were distributed.

“As a principled and caring father of the constituency, I sourced these goodies from friends to bring smiles to those in need,” Munemo said.
“We are happy that BAZ has come to Dande Store to consult on the place we want to put Radio KoreKore, so as a father, we saw it fit to add on to this big event and help the vulnerable in our community.”
The consultation event not only marked a key step toward giving the KoreKore-speaking population a voice through the upcoming radio station but also showcased the MP’s ongoing dedication to social welfare.
“This is not a one-time gesture,” he emphasized.
“Giving is our continuous mandate even on December 3, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we gathered more than 2,000 people and distributed food hampers.”
Over the years, Munemo has also launched several empowerment initiatives, including helping families start poultry projects and donating laptops to various schools across the constituency.
