Police in Masvingo is appealing for information which will help in the identification of a female corpse which was found naked in Cloverly mountain last week.
Masvingo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa said the body of the woman was found by Joyce Mangwana (53) and two unnamed ladies who had gone for their daily prayers in the mountain.
Police details who attended the scene found the deceased lying naked from the waist facing upwards, with a severely swollen face and deep cuts on the right side of her head.
Dhewa said the surrounding area was littered with blood-stained stones, suggesting a violent struggle.
The police took the unidentified body to Masvingo Provincial Hospital Mortuary for a post-mortem.
He added that investigations are ongoing, and appealed to anyone with information leading to the arrest of the culprits and identification of the deceased to report at any nearest police station.
