…says FRELIMO, Zanu sister parties

CHIPINGE – Chipinge South Zanu PF legislator, Enock Porusingazi said Zanu PF and Mozambique’s ruling party FRELIMO (Frente de Libertacao de Mocambique or Liberation Front of Mozambique) are sister parties hence its members are in the country helping in campaigning for the ruling party.
This comes in after residents who attended a Zanu PF gathering were left shocked after a FRELIMO leader, Sam Magarabota said if Chipinge South legislator Porusingazi, aspiring ward 28 councilor Edmore Masiya and President Mnangagwa lose in the August 23 harmonised elections, Zimbabweans will not be allowed to enter Mozambique.

Magarabota who is said to be the FRELIMO district secretary said business people who usually get their products from Mozambique will not be allowed in if the ruling party loses.
In two videos making rounds on social media, Magarabota is heard saying Zimbabweans who have farms and property in Mozambique will be denied access if Zanu PF loses.
“If Porusingazi, Masiya and ED lose in this election, know that, that will be the end of our relationship. You will not get all your cattle and farms in Mozambique.
“As businesses you are benefiting from fuel dealings in Mozambique but you are telling people to leave Zanu PF. Teachers, we gave you schools to teach not to go against the ruling party. Zanu PF and FRELIMO we are a unity. FRELIMO is saying business people must support Zanu PF.
“If they do not do that that’s why I have brought in the army commander. Back home, he can kill. It will be better to end our relationship when Porusingazi loses, but know we won’t allow you to visit Mozambique.
“We will know that you are enemies and you want FRELIMO to die. If you continue to support Porusingazi and ED we will continue working together.
“If Zanu PF loses here in Mabeye, don’t come to Mozambique. As FRELIMO district head office, we are saying diesel can not go to CCC, MDC or to those who do not vote for Zanu PF,” he said.
CCC Chipinge South aspiring legislator Clifford Hlathwayo confirmed that Magarabota is moving around intimidating villagers to vote for the ruling party.
“Porusingazi is the one who is moving around with Magarabota. Magarabota is well known here in Chipinge South. He is the FRELIMO district secretary and he stays at Chingove Town, less than 10 km away from Mabeye border,” he said.
Hlathwayo urged Chipinge South residents not to panic since they know what they want.
“People here are not panicking. They know what they want. Nothing will change. They are tired of Zanu PF and no longer want it. People want change. I want to let people know that CCC is ready to make sure that victory for the citizen is secured,” he said.
Reached for comment, Porusingazi said FRELIMO and Zanu PF share the same ideologies and they are one party and also added that Magarabota was not campaigning but he gave a solidarity message during a rally.
“FRELIMO and Zanu PF is one thing. This is why they always give a solidarity message on all our conferences. To us that was not a campaign but a solidarity message. Our people along the border have farms, cattle and houses in Mozambique. There is nothing wrong with FRELIMO supporting Zanu PF. Chamisa goes to Johannesburg and USA looking for diaspora votes. He goes there saying vote for CCC,” said the unmoved veteran legislator.
Porusingazi confirmed watching the video and said he was not at the said meeting.
“I did not attend the meeting in question, but I have watched the video. I did not see anything wrong with it. It was just a solidarity message and advice of two sister parties. We do that with ANC, SWAPO and Chama Chamapinduzi and there is no problem. It was a Zanu PF meeting.
“Those who came knew very well that they were going to a Zanu PF meeting although some people may want interpret it otherwise. Magarabota said if our relationship is affected, Chipinge gets affected.
“This is very true, we sell cotton and sesame seeds in Mozambique. He just came with a delegation and they were not armed,” he said.
