CHIKOMBA—Popular Chivhu woman, Monica Primrose Muroyiwa (33) has been arraigned before Chivhu Resident Magistrate, Sam Chitumwa for being a commodity broker of stolen goods.
Monica, who is being represented by Emmanuel Samundombe of Samundombe and Partners Legal Practitioners was remanded out of custody to June 6 on ZW$100 000 bail on condition that she reports every Friday at Chivhu CID and she will not interfere with witness.
She is facing eleven counts of knowingly receiving stolen goods.
Monica unlawfully took in possession stolen property valued at US$1 255 and property valued at US$895 has been recovered by Chivhu CID so far.
It is the State case that on an unknown date during the month of March 2023 at Chivhu Location Shops, Monica unlawfully took possession of one black solar inverter from Terrence Gwenha knowing that the property was stolen.
In the same month again at M2163 Chivhu Location she unlawfully took possession of one 12volts battery from Terrence Gwenha and Givemore Kabvura knowing that the property was stolen.
In the month of April 2023 at House No. 1833 Westhood, Chivhu Monica unlawfully took possession of 24 x 500 ml gear oil, 6 x 500ml Dot 3 break fluid, one CV Joint and one box of 10 spark plugs, black solar inverter from Terence Gwenha and Givemore Kabvura knowing the property was stolen.
In the same month, she also unlawfully took possession of one back laptop with cracked LCD knowing the property had been stolen.
During the same month, she unlawfully took possession of 32 inch black plasma Ecco TV from Terrence Gwenha at M2163 Chivhu Location. She also took a white solar battery from Terence Gwena knowing that the property was stolen.
At the same location, she also took possession of a 32 inch Hisense plasma TV from Terence Gwena knowing that the property was stolen.
She was also found in possession of two 42 inch plasma TVs, two HP Laptops and Itel P37, black Samsug Laptop, 32 inch Ecco plasma TV with a cracked screen which she allegedly received from Terence Gwena knowing that the property was stolen or possibility that the property was stolen.
Monica’s shenanigans came to light when, Terrence Gwena and Givemore Kabvure were arrested by CID detectives and exposed her. The pair has since been convicted and sentenced.
