KWEKWE-Midlands Police has confirmed the death of a pedestrian who was hit while crossing Harare Bulawayo Highway on Saturday last week at around 738am in Kwekwe.

Midlands Police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko told The Midweek Watch that Ruvimbo Masevo (30) of Harare was driving towards Gweru when he hit Alex Zimheni (61) of Kwekwe who was crossing the highway at the 226km peg.

Zimheni sustained a fractured left leg and left hand and was initially admitted at Kwekwe General Hospital before being transferred to Gweru Provincial Hospital where he later died.
