Paidamoyo Mayanga is 2023 Miss Independence

CHIREDZI-Vivacious 21 years old Paidamoyo Mayanga has been crowned inaugural Miss Independence Chiredzi at a colourful ceremony held at the state of the art entertainment centre Madokero Gardens last week on Saturday.

Mayanga who is developmental studies undergraduate at the Greta Zimbabwe University, Mashava Campus beat other contestants to walk away with bragging rights before the newly installed Chiredzi Town Council chairman, Alderman Gibson Hwende who was the guest of honor.

“Firstly l just want to thank Endless Brand  who came up with the idea and theme ORIGIN meaning that was the first Independence pageant held in Chiredzi. Chiredzi community was very happy to host Miss Independence Chiredzi for the first time in the sense that models were showcasing their beauty , culture, values and morals.

“All in all l just want to thank everyone who contributed as that was a unique and successful event. Above all, the judges exhibited the highest level of professionalism, they were evry fair, they knew their stuff,” said Mayanga.

The first princess was Nyaradzo Mhere (24), second princess was Adiola Marumbu (18) and Miss Personality to the crowd’s favorite Tanatswa Gava (19).

“It was well organized event and we hope it will be a yearly event so that our girls will have a platform to showcase their talents, cultural values and beauty from the lowveld.

“Many thanks to the organisers for giving this beautiful town to host such a prestigious event while we celebrate our hard won Independence,” said Alderman Hwende.

“We want to take the pageant to another level each year as we intent to make a permanent feature on our calendar, I would to pay tribute to those who made this event a success,” Faith Mazana the brains behind the pageant.
