MASVINGO CITY-Helen McGhie Primary School has once again distinguished itself with its exceptional 2025 Grade 7 Zimbabwe School Examinations Council results, achieving a remarkable 99% pass rate.

Out of the 123 students who sat for the examinations comprising 51 males and 72 females, 122 successfully passed, with only one learner not attaining the requisite marks for advancement.
This achievement stands as a significant indicator of the institution’s steadfast commitment to academic excellence, which has been unwavering over the past four years, consistently surpassing a 97% pass rate.
In 2021 Helen McGhie attained 97.9%, in 2022 it witnessed a slight increase to 97.33%, in 2023 the pass rate went up to 97, 67%, while in 2024 all learners passed.
Such sustained performance underscores the collaborative efforts among the school’s educators, learners, and parents.
In an interview with The Midweek Watch, the school’s Head, Brain Gomba, described the milestone as “a monumental achievement in the school’s history.”
“This is an extraordinary performance, and I am filled with pride for our pupils, whose relentless work has culminated in this spectacular outcome. This achievement underscores the efficacy of collaborative efforts and teamwork. I commend our educators, parents, and pupils for their unwavering dedication to excellence,” said Gomba
“Our consistent performance above the 97% threshold for four consecutive years not only illustrates our commitment to academic rigor but also solidifies our status as a center of educational excellence. We are determined to continue exceeding expectations and to explore new frontiers of academic achievement,” he added.
The school’s exceptional results have garnered extensive recognition, positioning it among the top-performing primary schools nationally.
