MVUMA-One passenger who was aboard a vehicle that plunged into Nyamatikiti River has died upon admission at Mvuma District Hospital while 5 others were injured.
The incident occurred yesterday at around 4pm in Mvuma, Midlands ZRP provincial community relations liaison officer, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident and urged motorists to exercise caution on roads.
” We urge motorists to observe all traffic regulations when on the road and minimize speeding when driving,” Mahoko.
it is alleged that the driver, Elias Muzvanya (36) of Kwekwe was driving a Toyota Auris Motor towards Harare with passengers aboard and upon arriving at the 215 km peg at Nyamatikiti River Bridge, he lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road before plunging into Nyamatikiti River.
ZRP Mvuma traffic department attended the scene of the accident where the injured were ferried to Mvuma District Hospital and Margret Chakadya (102) died upon admission.
