MVUMA – One person died and three others were severely injured after a freight haulage truck was involved in a head-on collision with a Hino Dutro truck on the Masvingo-Harare highway in Mvuma on July 24, 2024, around 7 pm.

Midlands Province police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed that a passenger in the freight haulage truck, driven by Willis Mutisi of Harare, died at the scene.

“Mutisi was driving the freight haulage truck towards Mvuma, carrying one passenger. Upon reaching the 167km peg, the vehicle was involved in a head-on collision with the Hino Dutro truck that was traveling in the opposite direction,” said Insp. Mahoko.

“The passenger in Mutisi’s vehicle died on the spot, while two passengers from the Hino truck sustained serious injuries,” he added.
