CHIVI-A-24-year old Chivi man was arrested for robbery and raping a 25 year old female three times in full view of her son.
Walter Ngwenya (24) of Bhenjani Village under Chief Shindi, Chivi broke into the victim’s house ( name withheld) armed with a log while the complainant was asleep.
Masvingo Police Spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the heinous incident that occurred on June 29 at around 11.30pm.
He said whilst inside the house, Ngwenya lit his torch and demanded cash from the complainant before hitting her several times on the head with a log.
“He then ordered the complainant to undress and went on to rape her thrice,” added Insp Dhewa.
The complainant and her son managed to escape through the window when the monster had gone out to relieve himself.
However, Ngwenya stole three cellphones which were recovered after his arrest at his house following the descriptions of his body marks by the complainant which she had noted during the scuffle.
Ngwenya is set to appear in court in due course.
