Ngundu man stabbed in chest by colleague

 Alfonso Mafuzhe, 44, from Mhaka Village in Chivi was allegedly stabbed in the chest by a colleague Mark Muza (48) as they were walking home following a heated argument.

The incident happened on June 1 at around 6:30pm as the two were walking along a footpath going home.

The ZRP Masvingo Province acting spokesperson Assistant Inspector Masauso Patinyu confirmed the incident and said the two lived in the same village.

The two men had met earlier that evening at Mutote Primary School and were walking home together when an argument broke out near Mhaka Village, the cause of the disagreement remains unclear, but the confrontation quickly escalated into a physical fight.

In the course of the scuffle, Muza reportedly pulled out a knife from his pocket and stabbed Mafuzhe once in the left side of his chest before fleeing the scene.

Nearby residents alerted authorities, and the suspect was later apprehended.

Mafuzhe was rushed to Neshuro District Clinic, where he is receiving medical attention for his injuries.

 Patinyu confirmed the arrest of the suspect and said investigations are in progress.
