New twist to Chikwanda chieftainship dispute
It’s not over until it is over! As has become the norm in the country’s lucrative traditional leadership landscape, the Chikwanda family has taken their dispute to President Mnangagwa over the installation of Silas Chikwanda as the substantive Chief.

A close family source told The Midweek Watch that a meeting was held with the President over the disputed ascendance of Chief Chikwanda recently.
The source said they told the President that it was an anomaly to appoint an acting chief to be the substantive chief under the traditional culture.
“Muterera haangaitiwi mambo nekuti chake kubatira humambo hozopiwa mambo chaiye chaiye anengeashagwa nemhuri,” said the source.
