MASVINGO CITY-For the first time Sungura kingpin Alick Macheso and the evergreen Ochestra Mberikwazo will hold an electrifying rare family show on January 1, 2026 at Oasis Pub and Grill.

The show will see Baba Shero performing live including upcoming man of the moment, Obert Chari and Hakireni Stars Band, with admission set at US$5 for adults and US$2 for children. Speaking to The Midweek Watch, Oasis Pub and Grill spokesperson Edwin Simbarashe Mupakamiso said the event was deliberately designed to provide a safe and inclusive space where different age groups can enjoy music together.
“You don’t build a palace with small stones. To give the people the best, you bring the King of the Bass,” Mupakamiso said, explaining the decision to bring Macheso to Masvingo.
Mupakamiso added that the family-friendly show marks a shift from the venue’s usual nightlife entertainment, as Oasis Pub and Grill seeks to strengthen its role as a community-centred entertainment space. He said adequate security and organisational measures have been put in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for both children and adults, with food services and children’s entertainment also lined up for the day.
Meanwhile, Macheso’s manager, Tich Makahamaadze aka Boss Tich, encouraged music lovers to attend the Masvingo show, revealing that it will be the band’s last performance before going on annual break.
“This family show in Masvingo will be our last show before we take a break and resume in February, so we are going to deliver a good and exciting performance, fans should expect the best from the best,” Mashapaidze said.
