Mhangura – In a move to bridge the healthcare accessibility gap, NetOne officially launched the OneHealth Telemedicine Virtual Hospital in Mhangura, a milestone described as more than just a technological achievement, but a statement of progress, compassion, and inclusion.

Speaking at the launch, NetOne Group CEO Eng. Raphael Mushanawani expressed gratitude and pride in leading such a transformative initiative.

He emphasized that the virtual hospital reaffirms the belief that geography should no longer be a barrier to quality healthcare in Zimbabwe.

“The programme is being implemented under the visionary leadership of His Excellency President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, First Lady Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa, and with the support of the Ministry of Health and Child Care, led by Hon. Dr. Douglas T. Mombeshora,” said Eng. Mushanawani.

Eng. Mushanawani praised the government’s embrace of digital innovation in healthcare, particularly through the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) and the transition into NDS2, which prioritize digital health, improved health outcomes, and modernized service delivery.

For the people of Mhangura, the OneHealth Telemedicine Virtual Hospital promises reduced travel costs, quicker diagnosis, and access to specialist medical care for expectant mothers, the elderly, and those with chronic illnesses, all from their local community.

This initiative also reflects NetOne’s strong Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda, which supports critical sectors like health and education.

Through digital infrastructure, NetOne is enabling virtual consultations, remote diagnostics, and real-time access to professional healthcare expertise.

Aligning with Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030 to become an upper-middle-income society, the project places the country on a solid path of productivity, innovation, and equitable healthcare access.

NetOne pledged to continue partnering with government and development agencies to build a healthier, connected Zimbabwe.

“This is technology with a human face,” said Mushanawani, thanking the Ministry of Health, Zim Smart Village, and local leadership for supporting this life-changing initiative.
