GOKWE-Zimbabwe Republic Police is hunting for Netone employees who defrauded the telecommunications company US$94 793-00 at Gokwe Centre Shop.
Codesser Moyo (35) and Fungai Daka (37) were stationed at Netone Shop in Gokwe Town as the customer care representative and supervisor respectively.
The duo committed the offence during the period extending from 13 October 2023 to 18 November 2023.
Midlands police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the fraud to The Midweek Watch.
He said the fraud came to light after the “Commercial Manager and the Loss Control Officer from Harare conducted a reconciliation of sales at the shop and noticed a discrepancy of US$94 793-00”.
Insp Mahoko said while the reconciliation was in progress, the suspects disappeared.
He added that investigations are on going and the police are appealing to members of the public who might have information on the whereabouts of the suspects to approach the nearest police station.
