CHIREDZI- A 33 year old woman from Hippo Valley who had just secured employment as an irrigator, in the sugar plantations was found dead while naked shortly after attending her first job induction.
The lifeless body of Ndakaziva Chipaumire from farm 4 Ferdem was discovered naked in the afternoon of June 20 by a passerby, Ephraim Rucheche (46) from Section 1 with a knife cut on the left side of her neck.
Masvingo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa confirmed the incident and said the now deceased secured employment as an irrigator on 18 June and was supposed to attend an induction at Hippo Valley Medical center the following morning.
He said the deceased left home on June 19 around 0500hrs, on her way to Hippo Valley Medical Centre and did not return home.
Rucheche, while returning home from work on June 20, using a footpath that passes through the sugarcane farms, found a dead body of Chipaumire naked.
Police were informed and attended the scene and retrieved the body which was taken to Chiredzi General Hospital for postmortem.
Meanwhile, police have launched an investigations into the suspected murder case.
