NAC Masvingo to host 2025 WAD half-marathon

The National AIDS Council Masvingo Province is set to host a half-marathon on June 20, 2025 as part of the belated World AIDS Day commemorations.

 The event will take place at Bikita Gwindingwi High School, with a procession starting from Nyika Growth Point to Bikita Rural.

Munyengetero Masunga, Acting Provincial Manager, NAC confirmed the event to The Midweek Watch and said the theme for this year’s commemoration is “Take the Right Path, My Health, My Rights, Our Responsibility.”

“The hosting of Provincial World AIDS Day Commemorations is rotated among districts, and this year, Bikita has been chosen to host the event,”

“The event aims to promote health and wellness, while also raising awareness about the importance of curbing Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Ezra Chadzamira, will be the guest of honor,” said Masunga.

He also emphasized that the half-marathon will take place from 6:00 am to 9:00 am, and participants are encouraged to register for the event which promises to be an exciting and awareness-raising experience, with free health services available to participants.

“By hosting this event, the National AIDS Council Masvingo Province aims to promote a culture of health and wellness, while also highlighting the importance of taking responsibility for one’s health,” said Masunga
