RUTENDO CHIRUME
MASVINGO-Villagers in Mupfugami Village under Chief Zimuto in Masvingo Rural have been left searching for answers as they try to find what could have happened to Leopold Mamhovha who went missing.
Mamhova has been missing in mysterious circumstances since March 1 this year with only his blood stained clothes being found in the bush where he was herding cattle.
Masvingo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dhewa could not confirm the unfortunate matter as he had not been informed by the time of posting.
Close sources told The Midweek Watch that Mamhovha ‘s body was seen in Pok
oteke River early this morning by some school children who were crossing the bridge.
“Mamhovha’s cattle were seen abandoned and grazing in some maize fields in the nearby village. Then some people who recognized the cattle decided to return them to their homestead upon which they heard some of the cattle mooing uncontrollably in the forest.
“When they arrived at the scene they found Mamhovha’s clothes in a pool of blood. They searched the neighborhood to no avail until this morning when some school children claimed to have seen a body thrown into the river.
“However, when the searching team arrived at the scene, they only found some blood with no trace of the body,” said the source.
