Mutare-Prominent Mutare socialite, Tawanda Shalom Kambarami (19) died on the spot in a horrific car crash involving several cars last night (Thursday).
National Police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident that happened at Mutare Central Police Station and said more details will be released in due course.
However, reliable sources told The Midweek Watch that at around 10pm Kambarami was drinking alcohol at popular Manyati Bottle Store in the city centre and asked his friend identified as Collins, for his BMW m3 series for a test drive.
Eye witnesses said that Tawanda took off at a high speed from Manyati and collided with a Honda Fit at Mutare Central Police traffic lights, crashing into a Mercedes Benz which was parked nearby.
The Police attended the scene whereupon Kambarami was pronounced dead, while Tawanda Vheremu who was driving the Honda Fit was rushed to Victoria Chitepo Hospital where he is receiving medical attention.
