Mutare juvenile (12) takes own life

MUTARE- Police in Manicaland Province has reported a suicide case of male juveniles aged 12 who hanged himself from a tree branch.

Manicaland Provincial Acting Police Spokesperson Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed the incident.

He said Delan Chike (12) of House Number 12 Tenderere, Sakubva in Mutare on March 12, 2025  hanged himself from a tree branch near Golden Peacock Villa Hotel with a canvas rope whilst clad in Mutanda Primary School uniform for reasons yet to be established.

“Delan was discovered by Shelton Chivavaya (42) of Chikanga suburbs who was going for prayer sessions.

“Chivavaya reported the case at ZRP Chikanga and police attended the scene.  They inspected the body and found no visible injuries.

“The body was conveyed to Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital for postmortem and investigations are in progress,” he said.
