Amaria Braithwaite, better known as Amaria BB, was born on the 2nd of March 2002 in Hackney, London where she currently resides with her family. The singer and songwriter scorches dancehall, soul and R&B, reflecting her Jamaican-Guyanese heritage.
She discovered her passion for singing at just 8 years old and found her way to music by messing around on GarageBand as a teenager. Once she started sharing songs online, she quickly gained fans and built a community which has continued to grow. By thirteen she was already making waves, winning the first season of the British TV show Got What It Takes? ,a victory that marked her first major accolade and set the stage for her career.A year later,she showcased her talent on the UK version of The Voice Kids, proving that her voice was destined for bigger stages.
Her breakthrough came in 2019, at 17,with the release of her debut single Cha$e the Bag via Black Butter Records. Beyond her early TV triumphs, Amaria BB earned recognition for her live performances, including appearances at the Strawberries & Creem Festival alongside Little Simz and sharing the stage with Burna Boy in 2021.
These moments weren’t just concerts but milestones that highlighted her growing influence in the UK music scene. Signing with major labels like Columbia Records and Sony Music Entertainment further validated her artistry. She has featured on BBC’s Radio 1Xtra and her debut EP is What’s Done in the Dark. The single Slow Motion and 6.9.4.2 the mixtape have also further cemented her reputation as a rising star with a unique sound. Run is another hit single, recorded for the Amazon Original series Jungle, and some of her singles include the Ding Dong assisted Live Some Life, Hypocrite, Secrets and Fundz featuring Skillibeng. Bonjour produced by platinum selling ALV Beats of France is also a seductive track recorded during a trip to Paris and sets the tone of her recent mixtape.
The summer mixtape ,9pm In Paris, includes tracks Officer, Touch me, All night, Questions and Too close which she features a host of artists. Recently she has shared the new single Officer Pt.2 a sequel to Officer and has a select of tours in London beginning this week. The high profile musician has performed at different venues including The Norfolk, August Hall and Jazz Café with a minimum of 2 shows per year rating.
