As Zimbabwe’s national football team, the Warriors prepares for the upcoming four nations tournament to be played in Botswana, popular football supporter Blessing Makono, popularly known as One Mbappe is once again set to make the trip, backed by long-time sponsor Freddy Mudzingwa.

Mudzingwa, who has consistently financed Makono’s trips, says his motivation stems from a deep belief in the role fans play in shaping the national team’s performance.
Speaking to The Midweek Watch Mudzingwa emphasised the importance of fans.
“Football is not just about the players on the pitch,” Mudzingwa said. “Supporters are the heartbeat of the game. When they show up in numbers and with energy, it gives the team an extra push.”
He acknowledged that sponsoring such trips is not without challenges, citing financial and logistical demands. However, he maintains that the impact makes the effort worthwhile.

“There are always challenges, especially with travel costs and planning, but seeing the passion and commitment makes it all worth it. It’s about contributing to Zimbabwean football in any way possible,” he added.
From covering travel costs to making sure logistics are in place, Mudzingwa has quietly played a crucial role in keeping One Mbappe’s dream alive.
For One Mbappe, his vibrant presence in the stands has earned him recognition among local fans.

The four nations tournament is scheduled to run from March 28 to April 2 and will feature Zimbabwe, hosts Botswana, Malawi and Zambia.
Meanwhile, the Warriors have been affected with some withdrawals of senior players who are Knowledge Musona, Tawanda Maswanhise, Prince Dube and Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya who have been replaced by Washington Navaya of Hardrock FC, Godknows Murwira, Scottland Fc, Mongameli Tshuma, Highlanders and Jarrison Selemani of FC Platinum.
