CHIVI-In a move that is set to change the face of Chivi District, wealthy Kadoma City based businessman, Jamaya Muduvuri has set his eyes on establishing the first private secondary boarding school in Maramba Village in Chivi North Constituency.

Muduvuri surprised mourners when he made the unexpected sweet announcement at Moses Huruva’s funeral recently as he paid tribute to the deceased who was his driver and personal assistant.
“I have done a lot in other areas like building Auxillia Mnangagwa Clinic and a hospital in Kadoma for the elderly and war veterans, recently I built a clinic in Shokoni where my father was born but nothing for my uncles and my late mother’s area.
“For her legacy I am going to build a secondary school in Maramba village and it will named after my mother, Liya Mukungunugwa Secondary School. I will do this with the blessings of my uncles here as a way of honoring her legacy.
“I have made this announcement at the funeral of a great man, Moses, who was always with me, we would go to see the President together and never faced any problems as he knew every corner of where we needed to go. I was ever relaxed as he drove me from one point to the other, I feel hurt that he has departed at such a young age,” said Muduvuri.

Chivi North legislator Godfrey Huruva Mukungunugwa applauded Muduvuri for the foresight which he said will dovetail into the Vison2030 and attainment of a middle income society as envisioned by President Mnangagwa.
“This dovetails into President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030 where no one, no place should be left behind in terms of development. We yearned for this since time immemorial and I am happy the vision is being fulfilled when I am serving my term of office as the MP for the area,” said Mukungunugwa who instrumental in renovating Maramba Primary after being destroyed by storms some years back.
Tongai Musafara, of Gondo village commended Muduvuri for the initiative which is set to change the face of the district educational landscape.
“These are the type of developmental projects that we are yearning for in our area, the school will help reduce the distance that learners travel to the nearest school,” said Musafara.
Isaac Zimanyiwa also weighed and said, the initiative was long overdue as Chivi North does not have a secondary boarding school.
“This development will add value to the area as more investors will be attracted by the learning institutions, local businesses will also immensely benefit by supplying the school with requirements while the youths will also get employment at the school,” said Zimanyiwa.
He also added that he is going to construct Joshua Nkomo Clinic in Gwanda in honor of Father Zimbabwe who died in 1999.
Muduvuri also brought medical personnel at the funeral who health checked hundreds of villagers for free as people went about the program.
Moses Huruva (40) is survived by wife, Winnie, two boys and a girl.
