Msv CID nab jailbird for US$18k theft at new Musa complex

Detectives from Masvingo CID have arrested a Gweru thief for breaking into the new Musa Enterprises complex in Masvingo and stealing goods worth US$18 000.

Tinashe Pokwane (27) who was released from Whawha Prison in December last year for rape, broke into a shop at the new building where he stole cellphones and laptops valued at US$18 000.

Pokwane was arrested in Gweru early today while hiding at his base in Riverside.

He is expected to appear in court tomorrow.

Scores of people thronged the new Musa complex opposite Doczine Petroleum City Centre to catch a glimpse of the robber while he was accompanied by police detectives for indications.

Goods worth US$15 000 were recovered.

Masvingo has become a no go area for criminals, with stakeholders applauding the CID for conducting  thorough investigations leading to arrest of many robbers on the wanted list.
