Member of Parliament for Masvingo Urban, Honorable Martin Mureri has extended his helping hand to Chikato Primary School where he made a donation of 40 chairs and 40 desks.

Mureri used the 2025 Constituency Development Fund to purchase the furniture for Chikato Primary which is in the high density suburb of Mucheke.
Chikato is constructing a classroom block to ease infrastructure shortages at the school and the furniture will go a long way in filling the gap.
Recently Mureri made a donation of 40 chairs and 40 desks to Ndarama High School.

The MP is doing this to ease the shortage of furniture at schools in his constituency targeting the most affected areas.
As the classroom is near completion ten school approached the MP for a donation of furniture and he used the CDF to buy the chairs and tables.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mureri said that he is trying by all means to make sure there is development in the community.
“We are working towards ensuring there is development in the community and making education better. I was told there is a new block being built and I felt there is a great need for furniture and that is why l am here today with my development committee. We need to decorate the new block and that is why we came with 40chairs and 40desks,” said Mureri.
Chikato School Head Stanely Zhonje expressed his gratitude for the donations and was happy that their plea was heard and acted on.
“I am really grateful for the chairs and desks we received today, it delights me that our school was selected by Hon Mureri.
“At first we did not know the channel to use to get to the MP but we are happy that the MP did get our message and that is the reason why he is here today. We accept the furniture with open arms. We have two blocks that are almost complete so chairs and desks we received today will go a long way in furnishing the blocks,” he said.
Chikato Primary SDC Chairman Mashingaidze Maguchu expressed his gratitude for the donated school furniture.
“As the school head said we are happy to be recognised and prioritised. The furniture we received is going to make a great difference, we still have a lot of things we want for the school so we would not want to burden parents as they are also struggling.
“For the block there is still a lot that needs to be done like tiles and glasses. We hope more of donations like these will come in at the school. A few days ago we were celebrating the bus we managed to secure for the school so we do not take anything done lightly,” said Maguchu.
