CHIVI-In a move to promote grassroots development, Chivi North MP, Godfrey Huruva Mukungunugwa, has reaffirmed his commitment to rural transformation by spearheading the distribution of cement to schools and clinics across the constituency.

The latest phase of support has seen several institutions benefiting from the gesture, aimed at strengthening educational and health infrastructure in underserved areas.

Recent beneficiaries of the cement distribution include Hlanga Primary School in Ward 9, which received 25 bags, Utsinda Primary School in Ward 7 (5 bags), Mudadisi High School in Ward 4 (5 bags), Gondo Primary School in Ward 8 (5 bags), Rubweruchena Primary School (6 bags), Chamasvinga Primary School in Ward 4 (10 bags), Mabika Primary School in Ward 13 (5 bags), and Zvamapere Clinic in Ward 10, which received 15 bags.

Local councillors and school heads expressed gratitude, noting that these interventions are already making tangible improvements in the quality of service delivery.

“We are deeply thankful to our MP and the President for prioritizing rural areas. This cement will go a long way in completing critical classroom blocks, staff quarters, and improving sanitation at our schools and clinics,” said a Chipo Mawaya a parent at Rubweruchena School.

MP Mukungunugwa reaffirmed his commitment to leaving no community behind in the development matrix, urging all stakeholders to work together for a prosperous Zimbabwe.

“As we march toward Vision 2030, we must build with our own hands.

“Education and health are cornerstones of any successful society, and I will continue to stand with our people in ensuring no child or patient is left behind,” he said.

The MP’s development agenda prioritizes water, health, education, and projects.

In the education sector, they are constructing new blocks in all schools, drilling boreholes for clean water, and electrifying schools.

They have also introduced road runner and fishery projects in Chivi North Constituency.

Specific projects include new classroom blocks, toilets, renovation of old blocks, and staff cottages.

The initiative has been widely praised by community members and traditional leaders alike, further cementing Mukungunugwa’s reputation as a results-driven leader dedicated to uplifting Chivi North.

With projects like Madyangove new classroom block almost 90% done, Taru block done 100%, Maramba Primary School block done 100%, Shumba 2 classroom blocks 90% done, Mandamabwe Primary School 100% done, Ruhweruchena, Hlanga renovation at 50%, and Utsinda toilets renovation done and new toilets construction fully done 100%, the initiative is fruitful and a success.

Additionally, the project has successfully engaged old students’ associations in each and every school, who were approached and encouraged to give back to the community through donations, and this too has been a success.

The MP’s commitment to development and his people is evident in his words, “Our priority number one in terms of development in my constituency is water. Borehole drilling, water harvesting, solarized boreholes, borehole repairs, irrigation repairs, and maintenance,” he added.
