MWENEZI-Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade and MP for Mwenezi East Constituency Sheillah Chikomo has donated roofing material to Mangondi Primary School in Mwenezi East Constituency, Ward 14 which was destroyed a winds.

MP Chikomo made the donation of roofing material and window panes to the school on 12 September after a hostile whirlwind blew away roof of a classroom block at the school on 10 September, leaving teachers and learners exposed to vagaries of the harsh weather.
“I am really sorry about this sad incident which l am witnessing here at Mangondi Primary. What makes the situation pathetic is that in two weeks time Grade seven learners will be seating for their final examinations, hence the need for us to expedite the repairs. To that end, l have brought one hundred standard zinc roofing sheets and window panes towards the roofing of the classroom block” said MP Chikomo, igniting joyous celebrations from the parents.
Mwenezi District Development Coordinator, Isaac Mutambara commended MP Chikomo for timeously responding to the disaster stating that, had it not been for her quick response, the situation might have been disastrous given classroom scarcity at the school. “I would like to applaud Hon Sheillah Chikomo for rescuing the situation, had it not been for the donation we might be talking of a different story. The quick response by Hon Chikomo proves beyond doubt that she is with the people and there to serve,” echoed Mutambara.
Ward 14 councillor, Admire Matutu hailed MP Chikomo for being there for the people during bad and good times. “l am grateful to Hon Chikomo for being a leader who stands with the people in good and bad times.” acknowledged Matutu.
Apart from donating roofing material, She also donated food hampers to all the people who gathered to witness the handover of the roofing material.
