MWENEZI-The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade who is also the MP for Mwenezi East, Sheillah Chikomo has donated US$1 300 towards the completion of a classroom block at Rinette Primary School.

Chikomo handed over the donation to Simbarashe Rushwaya a senior teacher at Rinette Primary during an engagement session with the parents at the school on May 4, 2025.
Chikomo had a fruitful interaction with the parents who shared their successes stories and challenges. Among their successes stories is the construction of two classroom blocks and a teacher’s house.
Another teacher’s house and a third classroom block is still under construction. Satisfied by the effort and zeal for development by the parents, Chikomo donated funds which will cater for the completion of the classroom block and a chick rearing project.
Chikomo also handed over $300 towards a chick-rearing project at Rinette Primary, whose proceeds are earmarked to cater for payment of fees for children from disadvantaged families.
“I’m proud of the determination which you have shown in building your school, as your Member of Parliament, l am there to support this. As such l am donating $1 300 towards the classroom block and $300 for a chick-rearing project so that the school walks the talk as far as education 5.0 is concerned. It is my desire to see flourishing projects at this school. For this cause, l am donating $300 for the school to kick start a chick rearing project whose dividends will cater for the payment of fees for less privileged learners” said Chikomo.
Taurai Munengwani, Chairperson of Rinette Primary School Development Committee welcomed Chikomo’s gesture stating that it will go a long way in transforming the school.
“On behalf of the parents, we are humbled by Hon Chikomo’s initiative. This will go a long way in improving infrastructure at our school,” echoed Munengwani.
Rushwaya applauded Chikomo for being a savior for the school. “Rinette Primary will never be the same again. With these funds we are going to attend to our infrastructure. Infrastructure development is a key pillar of the Heritage Based Curriculum. With this donation we are definitely making strides towards achieving this. More so, the funds for the chick rearing project will ensure production at the school which is also a requisite of the Heritage Based Curriculum” shared Rushwaya.
Chikomo is on a drive to transform infrastructure at schools in Mwenezi East Constituency. Some of the schools which have received funding towards infrastructure development include Chingwizi, Turf, Chiumburu, Batanai, JB, Chemhara (primary Schools) and Chinyu Secondary.
