Moyo crowned Miss Gweru at a glamorous contest

GWERU-It was all glitz last Saturday night, when Gugulethu Diana Moyo (19), a Harvard College student  was crowned Miss Gweru.

The beauty queen shrugged off stiff competition from 15 other contestants at a pageant ceremony that was held at Millan Family Restaurant.

Moyo received a tuition voucher from River Valley Properties, US$500 from Glow Petroleum and an evening gown from Mahein Glam Hair Produce Wig.

Crowned the first princes was Maxine Rejoice Tasara who walked away with US$300 and 30 driving lessons from MidDrive Driving School, bed and breakfast courtesy from Suskwe while Chantel Kanyoka  who was the second princess received US$200 and 30 driving lessons from MidDrive Driving School.

For their efforts, all contestants received bath toiletries from OK Mart.

The outgoing Queen was Lisa Kobekile.

Revelers were entertained by urban grooves artiste Trevor Dongo who set the stage ablaze at the premier contest designed to empower the girl child with knowledge of fighting abuse.
