CHECHECHE -Former Zanu Ndoga leader and Zanu PF Central Committee Member Wilson Khumbula has shocked the political world by suggesting that President Mnangagwa should be at the helm of the nation until he is 97 years old.
Khumbula said President Mnangagwa must be given time to execute his vision.
“Other political parties have seen that President Mnangagwa is the right person to rule this country. Even if time frame is to be fixed, the first five years that he was given was more of a study. If our constitution was to be amended, he was supposed to be given another 5 years.
“If someone is good must be given enough time. Maximum must be 15 years, he would have fixed our country. To be honest, everywhere people are satisfied with his performance,” he said.
“Everything that was promised in the last election must be fulfilled. Mainly roads. In terms of providing electricity and water, he is trying his best.
“He is moving and going forward but when it comes to the issue of accessibility of areas because of bad roads, he has done a lot on international feeder roads but DDF and council roads are bad. That’s where the people stay. People are failing to travel to their rural areas because of bad roads,” he said.
Khumbula who is also known as Kujo blasted opposition parties led councils. He said they don’t want development of the country.
“In major cities the challenge is the elected officials who are the opposition who do not want development. Opposition will never want development as long as they are not ruling the country. That is why they are not fixing roads.
“They do not care. They want people to suffer so that the western countries can come and give them money not for the good of the country but for their personal sustenance.
“The ruling party and President Mnangagwa have done a for the nation. The only little thing left is to go to the rural areas and fix roads. This is where the majority stay. Government must concentrate on those roads just for the remaining few days so that they get a good harvest.
“The constitution must have three stages. I think our constitution is lacking on the trinity part of life. If you go everywhere there is trinity. President Mnangagwa is doing very well but the time that we give him will be up before he completes his vision. His vision is very positive. Mnangagwa is a man of God. He is always in churches praying. That’s why we are enjoying peace in this country.
“Three is very important. God is three in one. A human being is three in one. We are accustomed to that but on the constitution we have lacked that understand. If a person is performing well he can be removed anytime even before the first or second time.
“But with President Mnangagwa, we must accord him another chance. The Trinity is the maximum. Food is there, fuel no problem and a lot of things have been done under his leadership,” he said.
