MARTIN MAWAYA
GWERU-Zanu PF Midlands youth quarter candidate’ Kudakwashe David Mnangagwa has said his party will win resoundingly and implored the youth to be peaceful ahead of the August 23 harmonized polls.
He said no one will benefit from violence.
Mnangagwa said this during the Midlands Election Candidates Engagement Meeting in Gweru last Friday.
“Let us be peaceful in our political discourse because no one will benefit from violence,” he said.
He urged the youth to take advantage of the opportunities that have been created by the Second Republic and engage in productive activities.
“The Second Republic has opened up space for the youth to engage in mining activities through out the country, take up those opportunities that have been put forward,” added Mnangagwa.
He warned the youth against voting for leaders who are thirsty and hungry for power but offered no solution, adding that Zimbabwe needs “effective representation that gives the praxis (practical) of the situation not the pranks”.
He said his campaign message is anchored on youth participation as well as effective representation.
“As ZANUPF we believe in youth participation through policy formulation and we are cognizant of the policies that are being implemented. Through these policies as youth, we are dissecting each and every one of them to see how we can participate. We want to see young women becoming employers and grabbing opportunities. That is what we teach our youth in Zanu PF,” said Mnangagwa.
Mnangagwa added that he will push for policies that empower the youth, adding that the country is in the right trajectory under the stewardship of President Mnangagwa despite facing many challenges.
“The Second Republic coincided with natural disasters such as Cyclone Idai, we were robbed of 2 years due to COVID-19 pandemic but the praxis of the situation is that Zimbabwe is the fastest growing economy in the region.
“Over 60% of our road network has been rehabilitated or upgraded, no place is being left behind,” he said.
