Missing Masvingo teenager resurfaces in Byo

MASVINGO CITY-A learner at the upmarket Junior High School Chamunorwa Mushayi (17) who went missing last night has resurfaced in the city of queens and kings today.

Chamunorwa who is doing form 3 went missing on Thursday evening only to found in Bulawayo the following day after he called her auntie, Vimbai Mushayi who confirmed the matter to The Midweek Watch.

“Tirikutsvakawo mwana wedu anonzi Chamunorwa Mushayi  anodzidza kuJunior Private Secondary.He is 17years old.Takamushayawo nezuro kuma9pm nezuro kuMucheke D kwaMbudzi.

“Anga akapfeka jacket rearmy green neshort.Mukamuonawo please call this number or kungoenda naye papolice iripadhuze +263 78 245 9699; +263772969905; +263773966565,” is the message that was posted on social media today by the family.

According to the auntie Chamunorwa normally goes for a run every day for an hour and comes back and takes a bath before going to bed, but on this day he never came back.

At the time of his disappearance, Chamunorwa was under the care of a maid and niece while the aunt was away in Beitbridge attending a church service.

The two raised an alarm after noticing the unusual prolonged absents.

His parents, who reside in Botswana, and relatives in Zimbabwe swiftly acted by circulating a missing person flyer through WhatsApp and other social media platforms, appealing to the public for any information.

In a surprising turn of events at around 10 a.m. today, Mushayi managed to call his aunt, sounding confused and disoriented, he said he wasn’t sure of his whereabouts.

A helpful bystander who lent him a cell phone informed the aunt that the boy was in Bulawayo.

Chamunorwa was dropped off at a local police station, relatives in the city rushed to the station and reunited with him.

The auntie said she making arrangements to take him back home.
