Masvingo City-The Midweek Watch reporter Millicent Hungwe has earned herself the prestigious certificate as a referee and judge from the Zimbabwe Boxing Federation (ZBF).
Among seven talented students trained by ZBF technical director Steven Masiyambumbi, Hungwe was one of the students who demonstrated outstanding dedication and expertise.
“As reporter and a woman I am very excited with the badge, I will not disappoint as I am going to carry out my duties with dedication, diligence and fairness.
“I can’t wait to officiate my first match as a referee or judge, it’s a dream come true for me,” said Hungwe who was all smiles during the announcement.
The intensive training was held from September 23rd to 27th, combined online theory lessons with hands-on practical sessions.
Hungwe and her peers honed their judging skills by evaluating live fights, gaining invaluable experience.
Hungwe will be handed her certificate from the Sports and Recreational Commission in due course.
This accomplishment unlocks opportunities for Hungwe to officiate at upcoming tournaments, showcasing her expertise.
The ZBF has invited successful candidates to demonstrate their skills in the next major event.
