MASVINGO – The late Masvingo prominent transport business mogul, Tanda Tavarura popularly known as “Mhunga” who died in 2020 had his tombstone unveiling event held last week on Saturday at his Rhodene residence, The Midweek Watch can reveal.
Minister of Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality, Barbra Rwodzi who is a close relative to the family praised the late Mhunga’s wife for staying strong for the whole family despite many challenges that she faced whilst her husband was still alive and even after his death.
“This woman is a veteran who stood by her husband through tough times during the liberation struggle, let’s all emulate what she has done throughout the years of their life as a couple,” said Rwodzi.
Godfrey Tavarura, the first born to the late Mhunga also urged his siblings to work for themselves so that their mother enjoys the benefits of her husband’s sweat.
“We are very happy for this ceremony we have done today and very grateful for all the support that we are getting from all the people who knew my father and our family”, said Tavarura.
“To all my siblings may we all make it a point to work and have our properties like what our father did so that we do not scramble for what our father left for our mother”.
The business mogul left millions of dollars in properties which include the building that is being rented by OK Mart in Masvingo, many garages in the industrial area among others.
